How do I claim?
The Temporary Employer-Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) is a financial assistance program established by the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) to help workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic 123. The online portal for payment iteration 11 is now open for non-sector based applications such as age of 60, comorbidities, isolation, and quarantine 1. The online portal is also open for payment iteration 10 for sector-based applications from June 28, 2021, to July 25, 2021 1. The online portal for payment iteration 9 for sector-based applications was open from March 16, 2021, to June 27, 2021 1.
To apply for the TERS benefit, employers can send an email to covid19ters@labour.gov.za 2. The UIF has also established the Workers Affected By Unrest (WABU) System to access the TERS benefit. The online portal for the WABU system is available at 1.
