The Department of Home Affairs invites applications for two Administration Clerk positions at Head Office in Tshwane, allocated as follows:

Centre: Standing Committee for Refugee Affairs (SCRA) - POST 08/294: Administration Clerk (RAASA) – Ref No: HRMC 6/26/13
Centre: Refugee Appeals Authority of South Africa (RAASA)
Overview
The Administration Clerk will provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support within the respective units. The role focuses on supporting operational efficiency, budget administration, procurement processes, travel coordination, and general office administration in line with Public Service Regulations and departmental prescripts.
The successful candidates will support digital transformation initiatives and ensure effective risk and compliance management within the unit.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or
- NQF Level 4 qualification in Office Management or Business Administration (SAQA recognised)
Knowledge of:
- Public Service Regulations
- Departmental legislation
- Human Resources legislation and prescripts
Willingness to work extended hours when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide general clerical support services
- Arrange meetings and events (venue booking, invitations, refreshments and scheduling)
- Liaise with travel agencies and coordinate travel arrangements
- Process travel and subsistence claims
- Process invoices and manage financial documentation
- Draft routine correspondence and reports
- Record minutes of meetings
- Maintain filing systems and document control
- Administer leave registers and telephone accounts
- Receive, record and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Procure standard office supplies (stationery and refreshments)
- Conduct asset audits with administrative officials
- Administer and coordinate the unit’s budget
- Compile monthly budget and cash flow reports
- Ensure effective risk and compliance management
