Overview:
TsAfrika Catering Solutions, a division of Tsebo Solutions Group, is hiring a Food Services Assistant to join its corporate catering team in Woodstock. This role supports food preparation, customer service, and cleanliness of the canteen and kitchen. Ideal candidates will have strong work ethics, good hygiene practices, and a commitment to excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Cooks and Chefs with food preparation, especially salads and desserts.
- Serve food at the counter and ensure the serving area is well-stocked and clean.
- Operate the cash register when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of canteen tables, kitchen, and food service areas.
- Store and record leftover food properly.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.
- Uphold quality standards of customer service and food handling.
- Provide feedback and report complaints or compliments to management.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings as needed.
- Assist in stock handover and inventory control for your area of responsibility.
- Perform any additional reasonable tasks as requested by management.
Requirements and Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have completed a National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- Ability to work 45–50 hours per week, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Good personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Free from skin allergies to food or detergents.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Enjoys practical, hands-on tasks and can work quickly and safely.
