Overview:

PPC Materials BU is seeking a qualified and experienced Mixer Driver to operate specialized concrete mixer trucks for construction site deliveries. This position requires attention to detail, a high level of responsibility, and a sound understanding of road safety and transport operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting, mixing, and off-loading concrete as per project requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

-Conduct daily inspections of the mixer truck and report any faults to the Supervisor

-Ensure the vehicle is clean, greased, and well-maintained

-Manage tyre pressure and condition as part of routine checks

-Drive the vehicle to and from designated construction sites

-Plan and follow efficient delivery routes

-Operate the mixer to pour concrete at the required locations

-Comply with traffic laws, road transport legislation, and company policies

-Occasionally drill the mixer drum as required

-Work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines

-Follow instructions from the Supervisor regarding tasks and schedules


Minimum Requirements:

-Grade 12 (Matric)

-External driver certification

-Valid Code 14 (EC) license with a valid PDP

-Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role operating concrete mixer trucks

-Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations

-Sound knowledge of transport regulations and safety procedures

-Excellent human relations and interpersonal communication

-Must be physically fit, healthy, and medically cleared

-Good vision, hearing, and speech abilities

-Able to work in varying temperatures and outdoor weather conditions
