We are seeking a Chef De Partie to join our team on board. As a Chef De Partie, you will be responsible for directing, supervising, and assisting in the preparation of high-quality food for our guests and crew.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on guest satisfaction. You will be required to work closely with your teammates, encouraging and coaching them to achieve exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct, supervise, and assist in the preparation of food in the assigned station
- Ensure quality, quantity, attractiveness, and correctness of all food items served
- Coach and supervise employees assigned to the station
- Control actual hours worked and report discrepancies to the Executive Sous Chef
- Check quantity and quality of items ordered from stores and ensure proper storage and usage
- Prepare daily mise en place lists and requisitions for stores
- Execute special orders and dietary requirements
- Maintain a team atmosphere in the department
Public Health:
- Implement and execute proper maintenance and cleaning procedures
- Report malfunctioning equipment or furnishings to the Executive Sous Chef
- Maintain high levels of productivity, cleanliness, and sanitation
- Ensure proper use of equipment and utensils
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
- Degree/Diploma from an accredited culinary college or university
- 3+ years of experience in a 5-star hotel, cruise ship, or high-profile restaurant
- Certification from an accredited advanced food safety program
- Extensive knowledge of kitchen machinery and knife safety
- Experience working in all major culinary brigade stations
